Boo! Well that's a surprise

Good morning all

Well, this is a surprise, finding myself back here after such a long break!
I'm not sure where summer has gone but it seems to have flown by in a flash and my blogging time has taken a hit with  Mum in hospital for 6 weeks with a broken hip and ongoing renovations in my house and garden. I've lost count of the number of cups of tea I have made for my garden landscapers..and they're still not finished! Lol

Anyway..the reason for my visit today is bacause I have been joining in on the Summer Snap challenge over on UKScrappers.
The list of things I had to find and photograph are as follows

1) A dome

Yummy Ice Creams

2) A hanging basket

3)  Something sticky

My Grand daughter Amber eating an Ice Cream

4) Something smaller than your thumb

A ladybird

5) A set of three

6) Anything noisy

7) On a bench

Not quite a bench but similar

8) An apple

On the tree in our local pub

9) An object you would never part with

A copper boot my Dad made when he was an apprentice Coppersmith

10) A street sign beginning with the letter S (I've substituted the with something yellow)

A flower on my courgette plant

11) A reflection other than in a mirror

A pond on my daily walk

12)  Stitches

A layout with stitching on the corners

13) Something tall

My husband up a tree, cutting it down

14) anything containing the letter Z substituted with a 'New Frock'

My Grand daughter Amber rocking her first Ballet dress ready for her classes that start in September

15) Feathers

16) Peace and quiet

The field behind my garden

17) Something with a tail

My dog, Basil

18) A wall

Stencilled, fussy cut and printed!

19) Two wheels

My husband on his motorbike

20) Something surprising!

I almost set fire to my house but came back into the building just before it all went up in smoke!! I was, its fair to say, surprised..and shocked!!!

And these were the Substitutes we could choose from

A a new frock
B a summer celebration

WOYWW Post

Morning all

Thanks for joining me today for a long awaited catch up over on Julia's Blog Hop, What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday.
As my regular followers know I have had an enforced rest from crafting and blogging due to family issues, moving home and some ill health but recently I have been making up for lost time and I am delighted to be joining in once again. If you want to know more do hop on over to Julia's place linked above.

Until then, here is what you arrived to see..my desk! Only this time, I am showing you my newly set up craft room in its entirety.  As I mentioned I have moved home (in March) but we have also bought a fixer upper..so I'm lucky to have got this far as we have many other jobs, far larger and (in my husbands opinion) more important than my room! Lol

Anyhow, he's given it a lick of paint and done the basics but I still have a way to go with worktops, blinds etc. Until then I have a temporary desk (with an ill fitting glass top) but it does have oddles of storage so I'm not complaining! As an added bonus I am so delighted to have a ground floor room to save all the carrying up and down stairs every time I go to a crop! I would like to say at this point.. it won't always be this tidy!

Also today , I am therefore bringing you some layouts that I have made in the last couple of weeks  while trying to finish my nieces wedding album.

Here are the first few
This one uses Kaisercrafts Indgo Skies collection

This was made for my DT work for Merly Impressions, Kaisercraft blog using the High Tea collection

This one also uses Kaisercrafts Indgo Skies collection

This one is PS I Love You by Kaisercraft too

And here is one I made on Sunday after attending a bridal shower on Saturday. We went pottery painting in the morning and then had a lovely afternoon tea in the afternoon at a nearby hotel. It was a super day. Perfect for the bride.

Another PS I Love you layout

and here is another I made of my Grand daughter and I at a local historic House we go to regularly, Penshurst Place. There gardens are just beautiful and they have a great adventure playground too.

This was made with a random selection of papers and embellishments

Finally, I must show you these pictures too.. I'm spreading the love of crafting to the next generation.. here is my little GD (just turned 2) enjoying some desk time in Granny's new craft room..lol

Sorry for the gratuitous sharing of these last photos ..but I couldn't help myself! lol

Anyway..I'm off to have a snoop around other people's desk now to see what they have been up to and do let me know you've visited.

Have a great week

Three more layouts

Morning all

Another quick post from me today.

First a layout I made using Kaisercrafts Hanami Gardens. I also used Colourcrafts Brushos for the red drippy/ painty background too

Next another layout using Brushos.. this time I sprinkled the different colours of Brusho onto the background that corresponded with the colours of the photo. I then spritzed the background with water and took some kitchen roll and wiped it across the page in a vertical line and mounted the photo. I then fussy cut lots of magnolia blooms from the Hanami Gardens to embellish.. this was the end result.

Finally, I couldn't forget the groom alone of course, so I made this layout using Indigo Skies by Kaisercraft

That's it from me today.. short and sweet. Thanks for stopping by

A long awaited catch up

Whoop di whoop, I'm back. A long overdue post.

I'm going to keep it brief and not bore you with all the bits I've been making but show you a couple of special ones instead.

Since I was last here, I'm delighted to say my Mum is home and making a remarkable recovery but, I'm afraid part of my absence has been due to my lovely daughter in law being diagnosed with breast cancer the week before Christmas which has meant lots of additional Granny sitting duties which has been lovely and both difficult, in equal measures. Lol

Anyway, I'm thrilled to be able to say that she has had major surgery, a double mastectomy, and has been given a very good prognosis!

I've also just moved home too, so as you can see I've not been slacking, although unfortunately I have been struck down with a bad back and a trapped nerve so very unable to help much on the unpacking front and I am currently unable to do much scrapping..but I hope that will change VERY soon!

Anyway..enough of that.. Here are some of my recent favourite pieces.

As many of you know I now design for Merly Impressions and all of these are DT layouts and projects I have made..I try to save my best work for them! lol

Here are some made with Kaisercrafts High Tide Collection

and here are a couple of projects using PS I Love you collection..also by Kaisercraft

three by Kaisercrafts Hanami Gardens

one from Ubud Dreams

So, I hope you like what you see and it has inspired you to have a go at scrapbooking..it really is one of the most amazing pastimes and I have made so many friends through it.. I will never regret the day I found this wonderful hobby!

Thanks for looking and do remember to let me know you've visited.

Wednesday, 7 December 2016

Good Morning all

I'm not quite sure where three weeks have gone since my last post..but I'm back with a picture heavy catch up!

Firstly, the reason you're all here.. to see what's on my work desk! Here it is.. with the elements to make my December Daily. I'm a couple of days behind.. but I'm impressed that I've even managed to make a start! lol

If you're wondering why I'm showing you my desk, it's because it's Wednesday.. the day that Julia from The Stamping Ground blog hosts her What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday. Do hop on over for a look!

Then I'm on to my list of projects..

First these two for challenges over on UKScrappers

Two cards: One for a dear friend who lost her Mum last week. One for my 90 year old Aunt who lives in Florida.. a word of warning..make flat cards if sending to the US.. it cost me £3.50 to send it out there!

Next a selection of the 60+ cards I made to send to friends and family for Christmas

Next a needle felted penguin I made at a recent workshop.. expect to see more of this as I loved it! lol

Then, something more unusual, one of three fans I made to celebrate my Nieces wedding on the 19th of December. She is getting married in the Dominican Republic and she wanted 3 personalised fans for her bridesmaids as it will be hot out there.

Next some layouts for my DT work at Merly Impressions using the Party Time collection

and this one using the Glisten Collection

and some bottle tags using the same papers

and finally.. one of my GD opening the Advent calendar I made her last year

Just before I go though.. I thought I'd share what I've been up to in the last couple of days.... trimming my trees! lol

Apart from crafting.. I have been very busy visiting my Mum who is currently in hospital so I've been coming home and making things in order to de-stress..hence the plethora of items I've made..lol

Lastly.. in my previous post I promised a giveaway for all my followers.. as the end of the month has gone I closed the giveaway and used a random number generator to discover that dear Toni from  My World...Sort Of blog was the winner. I will be contacting you soon Toni to send your goodie parcel on its way to you.

All that remains is to wish you all a happy week..and to say hope I will be joining you again next week..Mum dependent. I will be blog hopping and leaving comments as soon as I can but please bear with me if it isn't necessarily today.
