Romping through some LO's

Well- with the wedding over I now have some time to play with all my lovely stash so here is a LO I have just made with a lovely kit I got from Karen at Total Papercrafts consisting of Kaisercraft papers- Fantasy, Vision and Deja-Vu with some Prima canvas alphas.

I have wanted to scrap this photo for some time but needed the right inspiration to do so. This month over on UKS they have set a challenge for June with the following quotes as inspiration and it was just the prompt I needed!

1. Happiness is a journey not a destination
2. Smile and the world smiles with you
3. Whatever you decide to do, make sure it makes you happy.

I confess, my DH always makes me smile and so I created this LO for him. There is some discreet journalling in the bottom right hand corner beneath the roses- but it is a bit mushy for public viewing so I won't type it out here.

I hope you enjoy my LO's as much as I enjoy creating them.

Love and happiness

Well as you may know by now my darling son, Adam, married his fiancee on Saturday and I now have a beautiful daughter in law- and I am so pleased to welcome such a lovely young lady in to our family.

I will soon have a mountain of wedding pictures to wade through but until they are mailed to me I have made a LO of a recent photograph of them at a friends wedding which, I think, shows their love for each other.

The papers are mainly from Prima but I don't have the names of them all I'm afraid.

This will finalise their 'Story so Far' album that I made them which is all about their previous four years together prior to their marriage. I gave them the album 2 weeks before they got married but I always intended to give them this one last LO too.

Thanks for looking!

Wedding table planner

My, my how the weeks fly by!

Here is a wedding table planner that I have just made for DS wedding on Saturday. My friend Mel (thanks Mel) kindly cut out the silver circles on her Cricut and then I cut the rest and mounted it myself. DH then sprayed the frame as it had been gold previously.

We have a Royal them going on as our surname is King, The Hotel is called The Royal Wells and he's getting married in Royal Tunbridge Wells.. hence the crowns.

Last weekends Crop

As you may all know by now... it is my sons 30th birthday on Friday (and my 33rd wedding anniversary) and he is getting married on Saturday- I've been madly scrapping a 'Story so far' album for him and his fiance and a '30th birthday' album for him. Here are two pages I made last Saturday for the latter and have only just got around to blogging.. there's more to follow at some point.. but I must finish that album first.

Two very different Lo's but both big parts of his life. He loved BMXing as a teenager and the other one shows him and DS2 as page boys at my nieces wedding in 1995.

Thanks for stopping by!

CJ Theme 'Quotes'

Good morning... it is still early but I am grabbing the opportunity to pop on here and blog my latest CJ pages that have just been received by the recipient so I can now share them with you.

This one was for my dear friend and Teamie on UKS- Tink ... I hope she will enjoy them as much as I enjoyed doing them. Here CJ theme was 'Quotes' and I'm rather partial to the quote that Ginger Rogers is reported to have said:

I did everything that Fred Astaire did but backwards and in high heels!

I totally understand what she means as I too spend my working life in a mans world and yet never get the recognition that I would if I were a man.. so here are my two 8 x 8 CJ pages.

As the images I used were printed from the internet and the papers I wanted to use were soft creams, blacks and greys, I decided to adjust the images to sepia to blend them all together better. I mainly used leftover scraps from a kit I had used a few weeks back (see the previous post April Week 3 challenge) They are mainly Prima papers with some other scraps of cardstock ... anyway... enough waffle here are the images.

As you can see, I layered the papers together and used a film strip die cut and then stamped the chandelier and scrolls and added random embellishments that went together. I really enjoyed doing this one and am looking forward to having some more time again after my sons wedding, next week, to spend more time working in 8 x 8 as I am comfortable with the size. Thanks for looking

UKS May week 4 challenge

Here is my take on this weeks UKS Week 4 challenge.

This is a quick post as I'm off out soon, but I wanted to get this blog going again so here goes:

It shows my DH when we were on holiday in Norfolk in 2011.. we had a lovely time with our two dogs.

The challenge was to use a sketch and add pink or blue (guess which one I used!) and then use stamps or punches.. so I used punches. The 'flower' on the right is a die cut and I joined 3 together to make it tall enough. I then added flower 'chips' and the die cut humming bird.. the good thing was that I could use some scraps up on this one. Even the background paper was a 'random' piece of paper left over from a kit. I then used a small ink pad to smudge the ink behind the photo.

I did 7 other LO's at a 12 hour crop I squeezed in yesterday and I will blog them as and when I can.

Garden party

Wow where did that month fly by to?

Sorry I've been absent.. I have been uber busy with my sons wedding preparations. We  held a pre-wedding garden party last weekend and I made lots of decorations, paper chains, Pom poms, bunting etc and I had asked all of my friends to collect all the jars for me so I decorated 200 jam/pickle jars with lace and popped tea lights into them for the evening. I had a great time so please forgive my absence. Here are some of the images.

The bride and groom who the party is in honour of are here

Less than 2 weeks to the big day so forgive my absence over the coming weeks! I'm off to London for a wedding dress fitting with DIL to be but I'll be back later I hope.
