Counterfiet Kit Blog Hop post

Morning all

Thanks for stopping by my blog post as part of the Counterfeit Kit Member Blog hOp where I am joined by some very talented designers who have created some lovely projects for your inspiration today.

If you get lost, there will be a list of participants at the bottom of this post and you can get back to the blog hop order by clicking on THIS link

I find this blog very inspiring and it is a great way to use up your stash so why not join us next month.. it's addictive.. and so worthwhile.

This month, true to form, I found the three challenges set by the blog very inspirational.. and I found it hard to choose a challenge to do... so... I did all three! Lol

The first one was called 'Quebec Kilo' and was to use the neglected letters of Q & K somewhere prominent on our layouts. So here is mine

I used a couple of scraps from my May kit, Magic Memories and I hand cut the large red heart. I used some large chipboard letters and coloured them with a black Sharpie. I used SU's Perpetual Calendar stamp set for the little star clusters too.

Secondly we were given a choice of sketches to choose from to create a layout. I chose this one

and this is the layout I made from it.
The background paper was Kaisercraft Coastal and the spotted piece at the top was a scrap from my kit. I used the Say Cheese II journaling card on the left of the photo. I added some Florida themed stickers, some enamel dots and the arrows that I cut on my Cameo. The Mickey button was added as a nod to the fact the photos were taken in the Animal Kingdom at Disney... (I think they were anyway!)

The final challenge was to use the Escher effect..in other words... use quilting/patchwork. Having just recently purchased a SU hexagon punch and the SU Six Sided Sampler stamp set.. I was keen to give this one a go. In addition there was a challenge over on UK Scrappers that invited us to make a LO using just black and white... so here it is. Not strictly made with my Counterfeit Kit.. but there was some white card stock and some black ink in my kit and that's about all I used on this LO..so here it is

I added faux stitching around the edges and cut the title on my Cameo.

Well that's it.. if you would like to see more.. please continue the blog hop and see the incredible things this talented design team come up with.

Here's the order for the Blog Hop

  7. Bravo for doing all three challenge! I like your idea of using the hexagons for the patchwork challenge - I'll be trying that one soon I think. And great job on getting both the "Q" and "K" on your page with that clever title!
