WOYWW 377

Morning..

A quick post from me today I'm afraid as I am mega busy looking after my aging Mum. She's not at all well and my sister and I  are rushing around looking after her at present.

That said I still find I need to craft when I get home to de-stress myself...so I'm joining in The Stamping Grounds weekly 'WOYWW' to share my messy desk..

And here are the projects I have been working on this week.

I did two layouts at a crop on Saturday..and a Christmas card..(which I can't share yet as its a secret swap)

And Sue, who organises the crop, had a birthday and she'd made us all a 'party bag' to take home..now cute is this?

Then I went to Hobbycraft and discovered they have a half price sale on art products in there..so I bought a selection of canvases and I made this.

Which I am entering in the Travel challenge over on the Mixed Media Challenge Blog. as I was 'travelling' when I took this photo in June in Hampshire, UK.

And finally, here is a sneak peek of my first DT project that is going live on Saturday on the Merly Impressions blog... Do hop on over for a look at the final piece.

Forgive me if I don't get around to everyone's blog today..I will try to get there by the end of the week. Thank you all for your comments last week..I left as much love as I had time to share around. Please bear with me while I have this ongoing Mum issue.

To cheer me up I am also sharing this gratuitous photo of my GD Amber who was all dressed up for a wedding.. cute!

Take care, have a good week.

I'm finally getting the hang of this!

Hi peeps...

As some of you know, it has taken me a while to get to grips with my Silhouette Cameo (18 months to be precise) and it had been gathering dust in the corner as I was too scared to use it! lol.. I know..daft isn't it? Anyway.. I was fed up with it waving at me from the corner and sulking.. so I decided a couple of weeks back that I couldn't let the damned thing beat me and I was going to learn how to use it.. finally!

So.. with lots or trials, tears and tribulations.. yes that's right.. tears... of frustration! Lol.. well I have finally managed to cut some half decent pages. I can't say I am an expert but at least I am getting a few pages out of it.. hopefully I will learn a lot more as time goes on but at least I'm not actually afraid of it now.. at last!

So without further ado.. here is one I worked on today at a crop I attended.

It is based on this sketch here from Me and Mines blog, run by my friend Sue who has a great ability of drawing sketches for us all to get our teeth in to each month..

and I made this layout

which I am also entering in the More than Words August challenge too
As you can see I added 'Friends' in the title and I used lots of circles..cut, of course, on my Cameo! Hurrah!

Anyway.. the other layout will be shared in the fullness of time.. but for now it's bedtime for me.. so goodnight all.. sweet dreams everyone.

WOYWW 376

Good morning all

Welcome to my edition of Whats on your Workdesk Wednesday.. if you want to know more about it, hop on over to Julias pad at The Stamping Ground to see what it's all about.

So, here is what you came to see.. my desk!

Not much to see in the way of WIP.. but I have been busy.. three layouts and two canvasses this week

First here is a LO based on this sketch on the Stuck?!sketches  Challenge blog

and here is my layout...using an ancient photo of my boys when they were little.. a LONG time ago.

and I created this layout for the Kraft+one challenge blog for this challenge

which I made this using my Counterfeit Kit made for the CKCB Blog

I used the Kaisercraft Mixed Media Stencil to create the lines around the photo that I got from Merly Impressions who I am now designing for.

Then I made two mini canvasses too.. here they are unfinished

and here they are finished

And last but not least... here is a LO I made using my, newly resurrected, Silhouette Cameo that I have finally learned how to use!!!! Lol (I've owned it 18 months and it has been gathering dust since then) Now I know how to use it.. there'll be no stopping me now!  LOL..

Well that's it for now... do stop by again soon!

WOYWW 375

Good morning all.. thanks for joining me on my What's on your workdesk Wednesday again.. don't know what I mean? Head on over to the Stamping Ground where Julia will explain all.

Today I have some exciting news to tell you all.. the last two weeks have been a whirl so I haven't had a chance to pop by and tell you.. but I have been accepted as a new Design Team member for Merly Impressions.. the biggest Kaisercraft supplier in the UK! To say I'm excited is an understatement.. I am so thrilled to have been selected when I was up against some stiff competition! My first Dt project goes live on the 26th of August on their blog and I will be using the charming Bon Appetit collection

Anyway.. enough of that! Lol.. although I do hope you will visit my projects on the blog?

But.. today you are here to have a nosey on what I have been up to.. and here is my desk to show you

In the centre you can see a Layout I have been working on..and just got finished last night.

I used this sketch from Sketches in Thyme

and I created this layout of my Mum with it using my August Counterfeit Kit blog kit

So.. there it is.. all done for another week.. I hope I'll be back with you soon to
share more projects..and of course at the end of the month I'll be sharing my DT project too.

In the meantime I'm off to have a snoop around the other desks joining in this week at Julia's

Have a good week.. take care all.

Multi tasking post

Good afternoon all

Today I'm doing something I rarely do... combining challenges on one layout!

First I took this colour inspiration from Funky Flair Studio page on Facebook. This gorgeous mood board, Citrus Crush, caught my attention for sure.

Next I took this sketch here from Lets Get Sketchy August week 1

Then Studio Challenges asked us to use multiple photos..two or more- and their mid-month challenge asked us to highlight summer.

Then.. there's more... Rochelle Spears This and That challenges suggested we use washi tape or a border strip.. so I chose washi tape.

and.... drum roll... there's still more.. over on UKS the monthly house challenge is to use the following

- 2 photos
- 5 patterned papers
- 5 buttons
- 1 ribbon/trim/twine
- 4 die cuts
- stitching (machine, hand or faux/doodled)

and finally... HERE is my layout.. at last!!!

(Bet you thought it was never coming didn't you?)

So that's it... one layout.. how many challenges was that... SEVEN!

I've never, ever combined so many in one go before.. maximum normally is two..or three... he he.. well I'm happy.. so I do hope you like what I've done..do let me know you've visited!

Counterfeit Kit August 2016

Afternoon all

Today I'm bringing you my August Counterfeit Kit inspired by the Counterfeit Kit Blog and this lovely kit here from Papier Werkstatt in Germany

I am calling my kit 'Short and Sweet' as it is an edited version of what I normally produce.. although it should still be large enough o keep up with all my layouts.. I hope! I plan on adding more embellishments, washi and die cuts as and when I need them.

Here is my edition of it

Here is a close up of the card and papers including black, white and Kraft cardstock and some random sheets and scraps

and here is a close up of the embellishments and alphas I included

I chose to add some gold aswell as it's my favourite 'go to' colour at the moment so I added some Simple Stories 'I Am' collection and I also included some Teresa Collins 'We are Family' pieces that has Kraft colours and black and burgundy too.

So that's it.. do pop back soon to see what I've been making with it all.

A second sketch layout

Hello again

Here is my second layout created for The Memory Nest Blog

I was sent this lovely sketch by Leslie the blogs owner and asked to create a layout as I  am their guest designer for August.

And this is what I created

First I took a Tim Holtz layering stencil and added some texture paste through it to create the two panels of 'roses'. I then layered scraps of MME Lost and Found papers and stickers. I then added the little envelope and added a ticket with some journaling on. I finally added the 'Twinkle in your wrinkle' title which was another scrap I've been hoarding for ages..does anyone else do that? The photo is of my lovely Mum with my GS Amber.

As a final element I sprinkled black ink splashes over the Kraft card.

So that's it for today.. hope you've enjoyed my offerings.

Have a great month everyone.

A sunny layout

Good morning

Happy August to you all.

If, like me, you love a challenge why not hop over to our Facebook Page.. Scrap Challenge here to see a list of scrapbooking challenges that are updated regularly. We can soon approve you as a member and you too can join in the fun.

So, today I am bringing you a layout created for The Memory Nest blog as I  am guest designing for them this month.

I was sent this gorgeous sketch here by Leslie, the blogs owner

and I knew  straight away which photos I wanted to use! I have had these in my 'to scrap' pile forever and a day. They were taken on a Spanish holiday a couple of years ago. Now, I'm not much of a swimmer so this is a fairly rare sight, me swimming in the pool...hence the title.

Here is my take on it

I used a torn piece of card and inked along the top half of the card to create the clouds and then I added scraps of paper to the bottom. I added the circle of the sun and added yellow ink and I stamped the flying birds too.
Once I'd stuck the photos down I added PVA glue to the edge of the bottom of the paper and I sprinkled Prima small stones along with some tiny beads, gold flakes and tiny sea shells. I than added a couple of resin starfish too. Once the title was in place I added a few splashes that I made with a Martha Stewart fan punch along with some aqua coloured flatbacks and I was finished.

Thanks for popping by for a look see.. do let me know you've visited. and I will pop over to see your blog too.
