Three tags and a mixedmedia canvas

Afternoon all

A belated post from me as I have been rather remiss in blogging all the items I've been making recently! Rest assured though (!) that I have still been creating behind the scenes and this is the first post from me today.. there should be more later though so do keep an eye out!

The first project I'm sharing is some tags that I have made for a swap over on UKScrappers.

To get this  effect I first added some silver metallic tape to some premade tags and ran them through my Big Shot in an embossing folder.

I then covered them in Gesso and added Adirondack alcohol inks. Once dried I added black acrylic paint and rubbed off the excess to let the coloured inks show through

I finished them off with a crown embellishment (left over from my sons wedding table planner) and added some extra embellishments and a bird on each. I hope my recipients like them.

Then I decided to do some shabby chic-ing (I think I've just made up that word!) and I chose a canvas to alter.

First I painted it with gesso and used a Tim Holtz stencil to add texture paste. I used gold paint mixed in with the paste to darken it and added extra gold to the paste before it was dried.

I then adhered a panel of lace and gold chains to the centre strip. I also added resin flowers and the owl and painted them cream with a little of the colour showing through and added Prima pink hydrangea flowers with some chipboard corner trim. It all got a coat of thin cream acrylic paint and then I added the gold heart and dragonfly and then all the pearls. I then added some wet glue and added some gold cracked sea shells for the final bit of bling. Finally I added the word 'CREATE' as that I what I had done.

and that's it..simple as... I hope you like.

Come back soon
