Kaisercraft Mint Wishes Christmas Card

Good Morning all
Elaine here again, this time bringing you two card made using the scrumptious Mint Wishes Collection.
image
The first card I am bring you is an easel card, now I’m not saying you should make lots of these      cards as that would be way too time consuming, but making them for the special people in your life would certainly put a smile on their faces I’m sure.
image
To make the card I followed a You Tube tutorial and there are lots on easel cards to choose from, so… once I had the base made ( I used a smooth piece of white cardstock) I took a 12″ sheet of Forest Paper as the background of the front piece. I have made my card at 7″ x 6″, however, this paper also features in the 6.5″ paper pad too so you could make the card slightly smaller to accommodate that size paper instead.
I then covered the base of the card with a piece of Shiver Paper and then mounted a piece of the reverse of the same Shiver Paper on silver Mirror card and mounted it using Mounting Foam Tape to create the ‘stop’ on the easel card. I inked all of these paper pieces with the Island Ink Pad.  I then die cut some silver flowers using a die from my stash but I think these individual snowflake dies would work just as well.
image
I then created a floral cluster using a large Poinsettia using this Decorative Die, centred with a Sea Breeze Sparklet, that I mounted on an inked frame that I got in a Little Birdie collection previously. I then used several die cuts from the collectables pack, some silver mirror card flourishes (cut using my own die), some cheesecloth gauze, and two flowers from the Little Birdie Chrissy blooms.
image
As a final flourish I splattered watered down white acrylic paint over the cluster and added small white pearls as a flower centre and on the frame and bottom left corner.
image
I do hope you’ll give this a try!
For my next card I took a 6″ square white card base and added a piece of silver mirror card slightly smaller to the front. I then distressed a 5.5″ square piece of the reverse of the Logs Paper and sponged it using the Baubles Mini Designer stencil and a black ink pad.
image
I then used my Sew Easy Stitch Piercer to make holes to sew using White embroidery thread. I used double sided tape to stick this to the mirror card and added a piece of cheesecloth as a base for my Christmas cluster.
image
I added a Kaisercraft Rhinestone flourish, two die cut flowers and leaves from the Mint Wishes collectables Pack that I then centred with Silver Glass Glitter. I added a couple of flowers from my stash too, (also with glass glitter added to the centres), and a die cut flourish cut from silver mirror card using my own die. To finish I used a little more wet glue and sprinkled extra glass glitter to the cheesecloth base with some tiny polystyrene balls to represent snow together with a doily die cut and a saying also from the collectables pack.
image
So, I hope you like my two cards for those special people in your life and that my tips will give you some ideas to create your own. Do let us know if you do, won’t you?

Mint Wishes from Kaisercraft Scrapbook Layout

Good morning all
Thanks for joining us again today to see what we’ve all been creating using the fabulous collections released last month. To give you some ongoing inspiration on how to use your fab new collections, the design team have been working hard on creating some extra special projects to inspire you. I do hope you will glean some ideas from them!
So..that said, here is my first offering using the wonderful Gingerbread Cookie die cut paper from the Mint Wishes Kaisercraft collection.
image
To make my layout I first took the Fresh PIne paper and gutted it to make a frame for the paper. I then mounted the die cut paper to it. Next I took the Baubles mini designer stencil and used Transparent Matte texture paste with it to create a patterned background behind where I knew I was going to mount the photo cluster. Once it was dried I used a Kaisergel pen to trace the outline to make it pop.
image
I then took pieces of the Shiver paper and some collectables to create long pennants behind the photo that I had mounted on Kraft Cardstock and a piece of the Forest Paper too. I mounted this on foam mounting tape and then added two die cut baubles from the collectables pack on foam mounting tape too. On the first one I added a pearl string from my stash and in the second one I coloured in my dotted line to create a string using the Kaisergel Pens.
image
Next I took a Kaisercraft star, similar to this one, from my stash and heat embossed it after first inking it with the Island ink pad.
image
Finally I tucked a few collectables around the photo cluster and on the layout and I used Joy as the title too. The photo is of my grand-daughter opening her advent calender for the first time..and I think her face has ‘Joy’ written all over it don’t you? I also used the saying from the Sticker Sheet.
Thanks for stopping by..don’t forget to let us know you’ve visited. Have fun!

Kaisercraft Mint Wishes scrapbook layout

Good morning all.
Thanks for joining me again on my journey into using the, most wonderful, Mint Wishes collection...another of my all time favourites (I know I say that nearly every month..lol)
image
Today I am bringing you a scrapbook layout that I started by using a piece of Coconut Kaisercard that I have stencilled using the Baubles Mini Designer Stencil and a Silver Ink Pad and an ink dauber.
image
I first gutted the card before stencilling it to create a frame for the layered papers so I could mount the photo on the remaining off cut together with a piece of Kraft Kaisercard.
Once I had stencilled all around the border, I took the Cabin Paper and cut it down to 10.5″ on each side. I then cut it diagonally and stencilled ‘snow’ using the Spotty 6″ X 6″ Designer Stencil to the top and bottom of the diagonal cut.
image
I then took the Flanelette Paper and cut it down on the top and the right hand side, ensuring I left the printed floral element intact. I also cut this piece diagonally. I then ‘chomped’ two sections of starry border punch from both pieces of paper and stuck them to the Bauble Background I had created and added a strip of silver washi tape from my stash.
I then took the Shiver Paper and cut two sections, using both sides, to layer behind my photo and distressed the edges and inked them with the Black Ink Pad. I then used Foam mounting tape to raise the photo so I could tuck fussy cut flowers from the Frosted Paper behind it. I also used a flower die cut from the collectables packalong with a couple of other collectables and several Little Birdie Flowers in amongst the fussy cut ones and some Holly die cuts from my stash together with a Rhinestone Flourish. I used the title ‘Love’ from the collectables pack too.
image
image
To give it a final flourish I then took Silver Glass Glitter and wet glue to add some extra sparkle around the centre of the flowers on the layout (with some Sea Breeze Rhinestone Sparklets) and on the punched sections of the border.
image
I hope this gives you some extra ideas to use up this wonderful  collection..although it’s nice to ‘stroke’ it’s even better to use it up!
Enjoy!

Christmas tag

Good morning all

Thank you for joining me on Day 17 of the Christmas Countdown Challenge over on UKScrappers

Today I am bringing you a nice, simple tag for all those gifts you are yet to buy and wrap.. get ahead of the game and make these now and then you'll be sorted in plenty of time!

First I took a tag measuring 6" x 3" (although of course you can make them any size you like) Then I used a sheet of embossed paper from a paper pad (in this case I used the Holly paper from Kaisercraft's Silent Night collection)

I used glue stick to add the paper to the tag and inked the edges with a co-ordinating ink pad. I then added a sentiment from the same paper pad. (These pads are so useful for making tags as they usually have small sentiments to pop out and add to cards and tags). I then added a little wood veneer too.

Next I made a Poinsettia and leaf from a Sizzix Die (pre-made embellishments can be used in its place of course) and added some fussy cut holly leaves too.

I then punched a hole in the top and added a piece of red organza ribbon to tie to the gift.

To finish I used the glue stick again and gave the floral cluster a liberal coating of fine glitter for added shimmer and some small gemstones for the centre of the flower and the holly berries.

These tags are a great way to use up some of those scraps you've been hoarding for so long.. so I do hope this will inspire you to join in. Do let me know you've made some too. It'll make my day!

Thanks for visiting.

White with one scrapbook layout.

Good morning all.

Today I am showing you this layout I created using inspiration from the White with One  blog. This month they shared a challenge to create a layout using Pineapple Dream yellow.

Now, as luck would have it, I love yellow..one of my favourite colours to scrap with..so this went straight on to my 'to do' list.

Anyway.. here it is

I started with a texture paste and stencil background then added yellow watercolour. I then painted some chipboard shapes and layered them beneath the photo and added cheesecloth and cotton thread.

I then added the photo on yellow card and mounted this and finished it off with clusters of flowers, pearls and a heavy spritz of Tattered Angels mist. The title was die cut from the same card the photo was backed on and is by Kaisercraft. I cannot tell you how useful this die is!

Thanks for stopping by to see my creation.

Peace Christmas card

Good morning all

Thank you for joining me again today for Day 10 of the Christmas Countdown over on UKScrappers forum.

Today I have pleasure in bringing you this card that I have made with a loved one in mind. I tend to make lots of easier cards at Christmas for the masses but always prefer to go the extra mile when making a card for a family member. So with that in mind, I hope you will glean some ideas from my one here.

This card was made using the Mint Wishes collection from Kaisercraft but of course any papers in your stash would also work.

To start I layered silver Mirror Card on a 6" x 6" card blank and then cut a piece of paper 5.5" square to mount on top and inked the edges.

I then made a poinsettia using a Sizzix Die and placed several ephemera leaves and flowers on a cluster with a few ready made flowers too. In this case I used Little Birdie flowers but Prima or any alternatives would be just as suitable. I also inked a wooden veneer and tucked that in to the cluster along with a little cheesecloth and a few small gemstones.  I also added a sliver of silver mirror card across the lower section about 3/4" from the bottom. Just above this I added the Peace sentiment which was part of the Collectables pack that came with the collection..any alphas or printed sentiment would work of course though.

Once it had all dried I added a little white glitter on the cluster and background together with some Prima Glass Glitter as the flower centres and the card was finished.

I hope you'll agree that it looks pretty special even though ti was, in fact quite simple to make.

I do hope you enjoyed my little card and look forward to seeing what you come up with for your stash.

Christmas Countdown Day Three

Hello all

Welcome to Day Three of the UKScrappers Countdown to Christmas.

Today I am bringing you a layout using the wonderful, traditional Kaisercraft 'Letters to Santa' collection that I am calling 'Tis The Season.

To create this layout I first took a sheet of the collection called Santas Workshop Paper from the Kaisercraft collection to use as the background. I then took a die cut paper from the collection, (although any wreath or circle could be substituted for this)and I mounted my photo in the centre of the wreath and arranged a large and small cluster of die cut poinsettias and ephemera at the top and bottom. Next I took a gem flourish and placed it to the left of the photo behind a cluster that I made using die cuts and several poinsettias I made using a Sizzix die.. To create an even more luxurious cluster I added some small red roses and more inked wood flourishes.
I then took a Christmas stencil and used texture paste to create the row of wrapped parcel and inked and added two wood veneers.
For the top cluster I used less layers of the decorative die to create a smaller flower and I added another inked wood flourish.
To finish it all off I added fine white glitter from my stash to give some extra sparkle finishing it off with an ephemera quote.
I thoroughly enjoyed making this for the Christmas Countdown.. I do hope it inspires you to join in.
Pop over to UKS for the next leg of our journey!
