Three tags

Good morning again

I really should be getting on in my garden.. but I was so busy 'creating' stuff last week in the dreary weather that I wanted to catch up with my blogging first..the garden will have to wait! LOL

Today I am bringing you three tags made for a swap over on UKS.. this months theme is 'Flowers' so I set about creating these.

First I wanted to try some marbling.. a simple technique.. the hard bit is waiting for the card to dry!

I took a shallow tray and added plain water. Then I dropped alternating drops of Adirondack inks into it in concentric circles. Once these had settled a but I carefully lowered my tags into the water. The first ones that came out were very vibrant and a bit too bright for these so I continued to add more tags until I got a nice pale marbled colour. No doubt the darker ones will come in useful one day..maybe I'll make some ATC's with them..hmmm..now there's a thought!

Anyway..next I heat embossed some flowers from my Stampin Up Polka Pieces stamp set onto the corners in a nice bright yellow. I then placed the sentiment and stamped those. Finally I stamped and punched the bird and more of the flowers and I layered them on the tags and added pearl centres... simple really.

I do hope you like them?

Thanks for stopping by

Three layouts from me

Good morning.. Woo hoo.. we have sunshine here in my corner of Kent..at last! Maybe I can finally get back out in the garden after a week of dreary weather.

Today I am bringing you four layouts I have been working on this week.. the first, made with my Counterfeit Kit 'Summer Sensation'

I also joined in with the Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge blog to use the word 'Wonderful' on my layout..which was easy for me.. these adorable photos of my Grand-daughter Amber and my hubby ..who, of course, I think are wonderful! These papers are the Simple Stories 'I Am'collection

The next layout is using some old Prima papers. The photos were taken at a family wedding and as I don't get the chance to dance with my son very often I just had to include this although.. what WAS I thinking about that hat?! Lol

Finally I made this one here for the Kraft Plus One blog . It is a picture of my Father in Law when he was doing his National Service in the Royal Air Force.

and I used  the sketch from the Stuck?! Challenge Blog
That's it for now but I have a few more layouts to share soon.. so do remember to pop back.. or become a follower?

CKCB June Kit..Summer Sensation

Good morning

Thanks for stopping by again this morning

Today I have my June Counterfeit Kit, Summer Sensation for you to peruse. It was inspired by this kit here over on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog and the add on colour kit below.

As usual I had to choose what jumped out at me.. and it was Navy, Teal,  (that's a stroke of luck as I have a LOT of that in my stash) feathers and clouds.

Anyone that regularly follows my blog will now know that I have started to add more mixed media to my 'repertoire' so I was delighted to have the opportunity to add mists and stencils. That said I forgot to add my cloud stencil to my kit before I photographed it!  Doh!

Anyway..I knew somewhere that I had some of the Simple Stories 'I Am' collection somewhere..a recent purchase, and I wanted to add some of my older papers too. I don't have a lot of navy in my stash but I pulled out what I did have and included it. I then pulled out other bright papers I thought worked too . I wanted my choices to be bright and cheerful as its summer and I have a lot of new photographs of my little Grand-daughter and my dear husband in the garden so I hope to get some of those scrapped this month. It is so lovely to see their relationship blossoming!

Anyway..here is my whole  kit

and here are the papers close up

Here are the alphas and embellishments too

As I did last month, I used some of my previous months left over kit, Mays Magic Memories (which I pretty much killed except the gold elements) so I included these too. I am loving gold right now, so I can't imagine not having gold to play with for a month! So I added gold glitter arrows, some gold mirri card, gold vellum and gold polaroid frames too. There are also lots of wooden embellishments too which I can alter to the colours needed with either glitter and Glossy Accents or simple inking with an ink pad. No doubt I will add more stash as and when I need it..but for now I have plenty to be going along with.. now all I need to do is get those photos printed of my lovely Grand-daughter Amber.

Here are some I'm particularly keen on scrapping

I'm off to a crop tomorrow so I hope to get a couple printed off before then and I can use my lovely kit to create some happy pages.

Thanks for stopping by..do let me know you've visited.

WOYWW 365

Morning from a wet Kent, UK again today

By now you will have realised I'm back in the throes of getting involved with the What's on Your Workdesk Wednesdays.. don't know what I mean? Well head on over to Lunch Lady Jans blog for more info.

Now today I'm going to have to keep it very brief as I am uber busy.. and I will have to visit your desks later on.. but for now here is my, uber tidy desk! That's because I wrecked its tidiness yesterday and so I had a major clear up in there when I had finished on account that I have a visitor today that I wanted to show it off to! Lol That's two weeks running it's been tidy! It's a miracle...

I am just loving my new shelves by hubby built me last month.. and.. I've still got more room for more lovely stash.

Now I already blogged the two layouts I made on Monday.. so I don't have anything in progress to show you but here is a mini canvas I made last week.. I will do a separate post about how I made it as I don't have time now.. but here it is anyway.

Have a nice visit and I look forward to hearing from you all. I'll be by to visit you soon.. I promise.

Two more layouts with my Magic Memories Kit

Good morning from a very wet and soggy morning in my corner of Kent

It's pouring down here and I'm on top of my housework for now so what's a girl to do but spend some time blogging?

I hope to get back into my craft room later but I have my little Granddaughter coming for the day so I doubt I'll get much done, except when she's napping.

Anyway.. we had a nice Bank Holiday weekend with a sizeable family gathering yesterday and when they had all gone, I went and made two more layouts using my May Magic Memories Kit inspired by the CKCB challenge blog.

The first is this one using Kaisercraft Coastal papers that I included in my kit. I used some mixed media elements too.. Prima small art stones, beads, gold threads and some cracked sea shells in blue and gold that I bought from the £1 shop in their nail section. I also added three little bits of glittery ribbon and some blue and turquoise thread that I glued between the fussy cut and curled sea shells and coral. I also added two little anchors and a couple of marine themed flatbacks.

I chose Little Mermaid as my title because these photos were taken at Disney theme park, Florida. I  punched the top edge with Fiskars Threading Water punch and added lots of clear and aqua beads to represent droplets of water.

The second layout was created with the scraps of my Say Cheese II papers I included in my kit..I have pretty much killed this collection so I cut four apertures and filled them with scrap and then layered the other pieces on the top and added 'shopping' embellishments from long hoarded toppers pack. I added a gift tag and the word 'me' because, basically, the contents of the shopping bags were gifts to herself! LOL

Well that's it for this post.. but I'll be back before long no doubt.

Do let me know what you think.. have a good day.. hope it's dry where you are!

Two cards from me PCC 195 & PCC 196

Good morning

A quick post from me for two entries into The Paper Craft Crew challenges.

Firstly I used this sketch

to make this card for Fathers Day on the 19th of June for my Father in Law

Unfortunately I was too late to link it up but I still thought I'd blog it :0)

Then I took this sketch here

and created this gatefold card

In each circumstance I used the required three Stampin' Up elements: stamp sets, punches, dies etc.

In the case of the last one, the bee cardstock was from some packaging from some Marks and Spencer wrapping on a beautiful bouquet I received for my Birthday in March.. does anyone else do that?

Anyway.. that's it for now

Do pop back soon!

WOYWW 364

Good morning

A very quick post from me today as I have soooo much to do today.. so I'll hop around all your desks tonight if that's OK? I'm joining in The Stampin' Grounds What's on Your Workdesks Wednesday.. which is currently in a temporary home.. I'm so sorry I've been MIA for a couple of weeks... a holiday and a family illness made it impossible for me to join in, but all is good and I'm back.. like it or not! Ha ha...

Here is my desk this morning.. looking all pristine as I spent three hours last night clearing up my space as I have been very remiss and making a lot of mess in there.. I have laid it out in readiness of starting a scrapbook layout later.

Here are two things I have managed to make this week..my first EVER ATC's. I would have joined in the swap  but I wasn't sure if they would be good enough for the first time around so I didn't join in.. but I'm wishing now I had.. as I think they are pretty cool.. but maybe I'm deluding myself?

and a card.. for my Mother in Law.. for her birthday in a couple of weeks.. I do hope she likes it as she is quite hard to please! Hey ho

Well that's all I have time for now.. but do let me know you've stopped by and thanks for calling in.

Counterfiet Kit Blog Hop post

Morning all

Thanks for stopping by my blog post as part of the Counterfeit Kit Member Blog hOp where I am joined by some very talented designers who have created some lovely projects for your inspiration today.

If you get lost, there will be a list of participants at the bottom of this post and you can get back to the blog hop order by clicking on THIS link

I find this blog very inspiring and it is a great way to use up your stash so why not join us next month.. it's addictive.. and so worthwhile.

This month, true to form, I found the three challenges set by the blog very inspirational.. and I found it hard to choose a challenge to do... so... I did all three! Lol

The first one was called 'Quebec Kilo' and was to use the neglected letters of Q & K somewhere prominent on our layouts. So here is mine

I used a couple of scraps from my May kit, Magic Memories and I hand cut the large red heart. I used some large chipboard letters and coloured them with a black Sharpie. I used SU's Perpetual Calendar stamp set for the little star clusters too.

Secondly we were given a choice of sketches to choose from to create a layout. I chose this one

and this is the layout I made from it.
The background paper was Kaisercraft Coastal and the spotted piece at the top was a scrap from my kit. I used the Say Cheese II journaling card on the left of the photo. I added some Florida themed stickers, some enamel dots and the arrows that I cut on my Cameo. The Mickey button was added as a nod to the fact the photos were taken in the Animal Kingdom at Disney... (I think they were anyway!)

The final challenge was to use the Escher effect..in other words... use quilting/patchwork. Having just recently purchased a SU hexagon punch and the SU Six Sided Sampler stamp set.. I was keen to give this one a go. In addition there was a challenge over on UK Scrappers that invited us to make a LO using just black and white... so here it is. Not strictly made with my Counterfeit Kit.. but there was some white card stock and some black ink in my kit and that's about all I used on this LO..so here it is

I added faux stitching around the edges and cut the title on my Cameo.

Well that's it.. if you would like to see more.. please continue the blog hop and see the incredible things this talented design team come up with.

Here's the order for the Blog Hop
CKCB    http://www.counterfeitkitchallenge.blogspot.com

I look forward to seeing you back here soon..and please do let me know you've stopped by..your comments make my day!

More layouts mde with my CKCB kit

Afternoon again

Here are some layouts I made for my sons GF's 30th birthday album based on the holiday they shared last November celebrating his 30th birthday. Both of these were made with my May kit Magic Memories inspired by the CKCB blog here.

The first is using some of the Simple Stories Say Cheese II papers and some stamping. The chevron is punched out of some gold mirri card and I used the negative space rather than the punch outs.

The second is a layout using this sketch and this colour inspiration

Here is my take on the challenge using the gold elements and vellum for my kit and including an acetate PL card as the title and some extra sequins to add some interest to the background. The two  gold and white background pieces of paper are from Stampin Up Winter Wonderland collection as are several of the vellum pieces in the centre.

Finally here is another LO using my kit with extra pieces added. The film reels are from the Say Cheese II collection and the black tag is from my kit. The black and white background piece are from the same SU collection. The black polka dot background on Kraft is from an un-named piece I had in my stash.

That's it again for now.. but do come back on Tuesday when I will reveal another three layouts in my blog post.

See you then!

Three tags and a mixedmedia canvas

Afternoon all

A belated post from me as I have been rather remiss in blogging all the items I've been making recently! Rest assured though (!) that I have still been creating behind the scenes and this is the first post from me today.. there should be more later though so do keep an eye out!

The first project I'm sharing is some tags that I have made for a swap over on UKScrappers.

To get this  effect I first added some silver metallic tape to some premade tags and ran them through my Big Shot in an embossing folder.

I then covered them in Gesso and added Adirondack alcohol inks. Once dried I added black acrylic paint and rubbed off the excess to let the coloured inks show through

I finished them off with a crown embellishment (left over from my sons wedding table planner) and added some extra embellishments and a bird on each. I hope my recipients like them.

Then I decided to do some shabby chic-ing (I think I've just made up that word!) and I chose a canvas to alter.

First I painted it with gesso and used a Tim Holtz stencil to add texture paste. I used gold paint mixed in with the paste to darken it and added extra gold to the paste before it was dried.

I then adhered a panel of lace and gold chains to the centre strip. I also added resin flowers and the owl and painted them cream with a little of the colour showing through and added Prima pink hydrangea flowers with some chipboard corner trim. It all got a coat of thin cream acrylic paint and then I added the gold heart and dragonfly and then all the pearls. I then added some wet glue and added some gold cracked sea shells for the final bit of bling. Finally I added the word 'CREATE' as that I what I had done.

and that's it..simple as... I hope you like.

Come back soon

Happy birthday layout

Hi all

Continuing on the  Florida Album for my sons girlfriend.. and having just returned from a few days away.. I am bringing you another layout using my May Counterfeit kit.. Magic Memories.. with a layout to be included that celebrates my sons' 30th birthday.. which was the reason for their trip to Florida.

I am also keen to complete a few more National Scrapbooking Day challenges and this one here from Scrap Our Stash caught my eye.

The challenge was to use lots of STASH items as listed on their blog.

I chose:
Sequins (three gold ones top right of the photo)
Transparency (vellum quote and gold cut outs around the bottom and side of the photo)
Arrow
Striped Paper (well..washi tape and the chevron print) and a # (hashtag)

They also gave us a selection of sketches to choose from and I chose this one, Sketch 5

The collection I chose was Simple Stories, Say Cheese II . The Happy Birthday badge, arrow and the hashtag are all wooden and I inked them in gold ink and then heat embossed them. The numbers for the title are Heidi Swapps puffy stickers from my kit.

I am also entering this for a NSD challenge for a challenge on a FB group I am in, For the Love of Pretty Paper.. which asked us to create a layout celebrating a birthday..which this one does.

I also took inspiration from The Counterfeit Kit Challenge from their NSD challenges too.. they suggested clustering on one of their posts and so I included lots of little embellies around the birthday badge and the photo.

So, that's it for tonight..but as I still have some more ideas brewing..so do pop back soon.
